Video shows deadly crash after vehicle collides with county bus in Miami Gardens

Surveillance video from a home in Miami Gardens captured the moment when a driver collided with a Miami-Dade bus on Thursday morning.

According to Miami Gardens Police, the driver of a Hyundai was heading eastbound on Northwest 199th Street when she ran a red light and crashed into the bus that was turning left onto Northwest 7th Avenue.

In the surveillance video, the bus was seen turning at the intersection as the other vehicle sped down the road and crashed head-first into the bus.

Following the crash, the 22-year-old Hyundai driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Her identity was not released.

Police said one person who was on the bus was taken to the hospital after complaining about pains.

Neighbors said it’s not the first time a crash has happened at the intersection.

“Accidents happen at this intersection a lot, I don’t know what it is, especially if my neighbor was here because a lot of cars end up in his yard,” Byron Clark said.

An investigation into the crash remains active.
