Miami Gardens woman arrested for stealing truck during test drive, cops say

A South Florida woman was arrested after authorities said she stole a truck during a test drive after driving a stolen car to the dealership.

Daniela Aguirre, 23, was arrested Wednesday on two counts grand theft of a vehicle, Miami-Dade jail records showed.

According to an arrest report, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies had responded to Metro Ford Miami at 9000 Northwest 7th Avenue after a salesman said Aguirre drove off in a 2021 Ram truck during a test drive.

When deputies arrived, they found the vehicle that Aguirre had driven to the dealership, a Ford Fusion, which had been stolen in a separate case, the report said.

Aguirre was taken into custody at 8700 Northwest 7th Avenue.

The report said Aguirre spoke with investigators and said she told the salesman she was going the show the truck to her father and that the salesman said it was ok before she drove off.

She also said she had bought the Ford Fusion a few months earlier but it had not yet been registered in her name, the report said.

Aguirre, of Miami Gardens, was booked into jail and later appeared before a judge who appointed her a public defender and gave her pre-trial services with an alternate bond of $2,500 on each count.
