Painting of George Washington stolen from Bucks County restaurant
Police in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, are looking for a man who they said stole a painting of George Washington from a restaurant.
According to the New Hope Borough Police Department, on April 22, 2026, around 1:17 p.m., they received a report about a theft that happened at The Salt House, located at 7 East Ferry Street.
Police said it was reported that an unknown individual walked into the restaurant, removed a painting of George Washington from a wall in the restaurant and walked out with it.
Investigators describe the suspect as a man in his late 70s. He is short in stature, heavier set, and has mid-length gray hair. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket and light-colored shoes.

The suspect was also last seen driving a white Toyota SUV with New Jersey registration plates that possibly begin with C95.
