‘Looksmaxxing' influencer Clavicular facing charges in apparent alligator shooting, records show
Controversial “looksmaxxing” influencer Clavicular and two others are facing charges in Miami-Dade in connection with a video that showed an alligator being shot at in the Florida Everglades, court records show.
Clavicular, whose real name is Braden Eric Peters, is facing a charge of unlawfully discharging a firearm in a public place or residential property, according to the information filed by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office on April 29.
Also facing charges in the incident are Andrew Morales, known on social media as “Cuban Tarzan,” and Yabdiel Anibal Cotto Torres.
The records said the shooting happened at the Francis S. Taylor Everglades Wildlife Management Area boat ramp dock on or about March 26.
Video posted on social media showed people on an airboat who appeared to be shooting at an alligator, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said.
Morales’ attorney, Richard L Cooper released a statement on Wednesday about the matter.
“We urge the public not to rush to judgment. Importantly, there is no allegation that any animal was injured, and the available evidence does not support the sensationalized narrative that has circulated online,” the statement read. “My client relied on information and guidance provided by those in authority and had no criminal intent.”
NBC6 has reached out to Peters’ attorney and was waiting to hear back. An arraignment was scheduled for May 20, records showed.
The 20-year-old Clavicular is known online for “looksmaxxing,” the belief that appearance can be deliberately optimized through fitness, grooming and style. The influencer has been known to take this to the extreme, with “bone smashing,” or using a hammer to intentionally break facial bones so they grow back stronger or looking better.
Clavicular was arrested in Fort Lauderdale in March on battery charges out of Florida, after a 19-year-old woman accused a 24-year-old woman of battering her in a home that was rented by the influencer.
Last month, he was hospitalized after a suspected overdose in Miami, a representative said.
He’s also being sued in Miami-Dade by a teen influencer who’s accusing him of battery.
