Iowa woman punched teen girl in the face on Carnival Cruise ship, Miami-Dade deputies say

An Iowa woman accused of drunkenly punching a teen girl while on a Carnival Cruise ship that returned to Miami surrendered to face charges, authorities said.

Jennifer A. Frost, 44, was booked into Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Monday on an aggravated battery charge, records showed.

The alleged incident happened back on March 19, on the Carnival Cruise Line ship Sunrise.

According to an arrest report, the teen victim said she was on a family vacation and in the Lido restaurant standing in line with friends and family when she said said Frost tried to insert herself into their conversation.

The teen said Frost appeared to be intoxicated and was pretending to laugh as if she were part of the group so she said she tried to ignore Frost, who eventually walked away, the report said.

But the teen said as she was walking around the area, Frost suddenly confronted her, lunged forward and punched her in the face, the report said.

Frost fled but witnesses followed her and contacted ship security, who detained her, the report said.

According to the report, body worn cameras showed ship security speaking with Frost, who admitted to punching the girl in the face and “expressed satisfaction with her actions.”

Two days later, on March 21, the vessel returned to PortMiami and Frost disembarked before making contact with law enforcement, the report said.

On Monday, Frost, who lives in Collins, Iowa, surrendered with her attorney and was booked into a Miami-Dade jail.

Frost appeared before a judge for a bond court hearing on Tuesday, where a prosecutor said the 17-year-old victim suffered a broken nose.

The judge set Frost’s bond at $2,500.
