Berlin Man sentenced to 35-years for sexually assaulting 2 young girls

A Camden County, NJ, man was sentenced to 35-years in state prison for sexually assaulting two young girls over a period of several years.

James Murray, 55, must serve 33 1/2 years before he is eligible for parole. The sentence was handed down April 17, 2026.

Murray was found guilty of two counts of aggravated first degree sexual assault, three counts of second degree sexual assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of obscenity to minors.

Following a 6-day trial, jury members deliberated for less than three hours before reaching their verdicts on December 17, 2025.

“We hope that this outcome brings them (the victims) some degree of comfort,” Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw said. “We will continue to provide support as they strengthen themselves going forward, and we will also continue to seek severe punishment for those who harm children in any manner.”
