Philly elementary school goes into lockdown after threats made, officials say

Philadelphia’s Robert Pollock Elementary School went into a secured lockdown on Friday after alleged threats were reported to administration officials, the city’s school district said.

In a letter sent to families that was obtained by NBC10, the school’s principal said that the School District and Philadelphia Police Department were immediately dispatched to the school to ensure safety, and that a structured dismissal took place in the afternoon.

All students and staff remained safe during the incident, the school said.

There is no information available at this time on the nature of the threat and no arrests have been announced.

The school also reminded the community that if they see something, they need to say something. Anyone can submit tips on threats to schools online here, or by calling 1-844-723-2729.
