A woman has died after a fire at a Lauderhill apartment building on Thursday, officials said.
The fire broke out at the building at 4046 Northwest 19th Street.

A woman who lives across the hall from where flames erupted said she first noticed screams.
“I just started hearing screaming,” she said. “I saw a lot of smoke and fire, and I grabbed the little girl and got out of there.”
She sad she turned back around towards the fire when the girl started yelling.
“’My aunt, my aunt, my aunt inside,'” the neighbor recalled the girl saying. “We had to go back, but by the time we turned around, it was black smoke.”
Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed crews at the scene after the fire was extinguished.
One apartment unit appeared to have heavy smoke damage.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
