Video: Car hits 12-year-old boy before fleeing scene in Reading, police say
A boy is recovering after he was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Reading, Pennsylvania, on Friday, police said.
Dashcam video captured by a witness shows the moment when a black Nissan sedan struck a 12-year-old boy as he was crossing the road at the intersection of Windsor and Front Streets around 7:15 a.m. on April 24.

The video then shows the car stopping for about three seconds and then driving away.
It appears the victim was able to move to the sidewalk after being hit, and bystanders, including the witness who captured the video, stopped to help him. Police and medics arrived at the scene and the boy was taken to the hospital. Officials don’t believe his injuries are life-threatening.
