Former Bristol Twp. officer, school security chief faces child porn charges

A former school security chief and ex-police officer in Bristol Township faces child pornography charges.

David Jayne, 63, of Levittown, is charged with possession of child pornography, dissemination of child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility.

The investigation began on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent a cyber tip to police about possible child sexual assault material being disseminated from a location in Bristol Township, Pennsylvania.

Resources for victims of sexual assault are available through the National Sexual Violence Resources Center and the National Sexual Assault Telephone Hotline at 800-656-4673.

On Friday, April 24, police executed a search warrant at the home on Granite Road in Levittown, Bristol Township. They uncovered evidence which indicated that Jayne — who lived at the home — had possessed child sexual abuse material over a 20-year span, according to investigators.

Jayne was arrested and arraigned by a judge who set his bail at 10% of $50,000. He is currently being held in the Bucks County Jail. Online court records don’t list an attorney who could speak on his behalf.

Jayne was a Bristol Township police officer from 1989 through 2000. He then worked in security in the Bristol Township School District before retiring. According to LinkedIn, Jayne was the chief of security for the school district.

Investigators said they don’t believe Jayne victimized anyone in Bristol Township or at the schools.

“This is a deeply disturbing investigation, and there is no place for this in our society. We will continue to be thorough in our investigations into crimes such as these,” Bristol Township Police Chief Charles “C.J.” Winik, Jr. said. “This is a growing trend in our communities, and these actors need to be investigated and pursued relentlessly.”

Chief Winik said Jayne could face more charges as the investigation continues.

If you have any information on Jayne, contact the Bristol Township Police Department.
