Officers rescue three baby raccoons from chimney of Pennsylvania home

Officers in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, rescued several baby raccoons this week after the curious critters became trapped inside a residential chimney.

Lansdale Borough Police Department shared that the night of May, 6, 2026, Sgt. Erbele, officers Ruel and Harney were called to a home after three raccoon kits became trapped inside a chimney.

When officers arrived at the house, they worked carefully to safely remove the young animals without causing any injury.

Police reported that their quick response and teamwork allowed for the successful rescue of all three raccoons from the structure.

Following the rescue, police said the raccoons were taken to the Aark Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center for care.

“Just another day of protecting all members of our community great and small,” police wrote.
