Neighbors say they heard shooting in North Lauderdale: ‘They were dumping magazines'

An investigation is underway in North Lauderdale after neighbors say they heard gunshots.

The incident happened at around 1 a.m. in the area of North Lauderdale Avenue and Southwest 7th Court.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed the gunfire, but two neighbors told NBC6 crews that they heard shooting.

Isreal Argueta said he was woken up by the sound of bullets.

“They were dumping magazines or something like that,” he said. “It woke me up, and then I checked outside. Well I didn’t walk outside for safety reasons, but you know, I checked under the window right there, my front door, and I just saw like a bunch of blue [police] lights coming in.”

He said he also saw a group of people walking and running around.

NBC6 crews were able to see a vehicle with its window blown out as it was being towed.
