Video shows alleged repeat arsonist start fire in North Miami Beach, cops say
New surveillance footage shows a man who police say is behind multiple arson incidents allegedly set a fire while walking a dog in North Miami Beach.
Larry Michael Baum, 52, was arrested last month on multiple counts of second-degree arson and criminal mischief, Miami-Dade jail records showed.
According to arrest reports, police had been investigating multiple arson incidents outside a home along Northeast 22nd Avenue dating back to March of 2025 and including an incident in November.
The surveillance footage shows a suspect walking a dog before stopping and setting some bushes on fire outside the home.
Only minor damage was reported.
The most recent incident happened April 13 of this year, when the victim spotted a man start to light an object on fire along with a possible cigar or cigarette, the reports said.
Officers responded and found Baum nearby with a cigar, a lighter, and the dog, the reports said.
He was arrested and booked into jail.
