Houseboat hits bridge causing issues on NJ Transit's River Line, officials say
NJ Transit’s River Line was suspended between two stations in Central Jersey on Tuesday after a boat hit a bridge nearby, the transit agency announced.
A large houseboat hit a pedestrian bridge that runs next to the bridge for the River Line at Farnsworth Avenue in Bordentown around 4:38 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, officials said.
This caused the River Line to be suspended in both directions between the Trenton and Bordentown stations as crews inspected the bridge after the crash, according to a spokesperson for NJ Transit.
No injuries were reported and crews were not able to find any damage.
River Line service has resumed but riders should expect lingering delays.
River Line service has resumed between Bordentown and Trenton in both directions and is subject to up to 45-minute delays southbound and 15-minute delays northbound following an earlier bridge strike near Bordentown.— River Line (@NJTRANSIT_RL) May 5, 2026
