Fire tears through two rowhomes in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood
A fire tore through two rowhomes in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood overnight.
It happened along Weymouth Street around 2 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026.

NBC10 spoke with Tim, a resident on the street, who was awoken by neighbors after the fire broke out.
“I was sleeping, and I heard a lot of noise, and the neighbors were hollering and banging on doors. Next thing, they were banging on mine,” Tim said.
Tim added that at least one homes that were on fire had been previously boarded up by the city.
American Red Ross shared in a statement that they are providing support to a family of eight following this fire:
“Our Disaster Action Team volunteers responded quickly to the incident to meet the immediate needs of the affected family. This support may include comfort and emotional care, financial assistance, access to health services and referrals to local resources to help them begin their recovery.”
Officials said the fire is under control and no one was hurt.
