Car bursts into flames after hitting tree in Fort Lauderdale; 2 injured, fire rescue says
Fort Lauderdale police are investigating a crash that left two people injured and a vehicle engulfed in flames Sunday.
The incident was reported in the afternoon at East Broward Boulevard and Southeast 15th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said the vehicle struck a tree and caught fire.
Video shows the car fully engulfed as neighbors, fire rescue, and police units looked on.
Fire Rescue crews extinguished the flames, but the vehicle was destroyed.
A man and a woman were taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
