Wren Kitchens suddenly closes showrooms, leaving customers in limbo
After Wren Kitchens suddenly closed all of its U.S. locations, a man in the Philadelphia region was left scrambling to recover the $13,000 he put down for a new kitchen.
The U.K.-based kitchen retailer had built several showrooms in the U.S. in recent years, including in Springfield, Pa., but the company suddenly shut down its American operations and left its customers hanging.
Richard Follo told NBC10 that he and his wife had saved money for five years for a new kitchen, and when they put down a $13,000 deposit with Wren Kitchen three months ago, they thought their dream finally came true.
Instead, on Sunday, April 26, they stepped into a nightmare.

With demolition already underway in their kitchen, they learned from the installer that Wren Kitchens had packed up shop with Follo’s checks cashed.
“As soon as they got our money, a month later they closed. I haven’t slept since,” he said. “My wife and I did not get any sleep last night.”
Follo said he tried reaching out to the company, but the only available to reach the company was through an enquiry form where the company’s website used to be.

NBC10’s sister station in Connecticut also reported on the situation and spoke to customers who had checks worth more than $20,000 cashed by the company, but had their deliveries canceled with no way to contact the company.
As for Follo, he said he is struggling for answers.
“They’re still functioning in the U.K. So, why can’t I get my money back?”
NBC10 has reached out to Wren Kitchens through their online form, and have yet to hear back.
