16-year-old shot in North Philadelphia on Monday night, police say
A 16-year-old was shot in the arm in North Philadelphia on Monday evening, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said.
The shooting occurred at around 9:30 p.m. at the 4500 block of North 17th Street, Small said, and the teen was found with a gunshot wound to his left arm. However, 10 spent shell casings were found at the scene along the roadway.
Several live rounds were also found at the scene, and at least two bullets went through a nearby home that had a family with children inside, but no one was hurt, Small said.
No arrests have been made and no motives have been determined, but Small said that there may have been a fight between teens just before the shooting.
Anyone with any information on the incident is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or anonymously online here.
