Woman found shot after robbery reported at Miramar home, police say

A woman was found shot after officers responded to a report of a robbery at a Miramar home Friday morning, police said.

Police responded to the scene at 10750 North Preserve Way shortly after 2 a.m., where video showed a heavy law enforcement presence and police tape.

Once there, officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound and took her to the hospital.

The woman’s identity and condition weren’t released.

Miramar Police spokesperson Janice McIntosh said officers at the scene encountered a second person, a male, who was with the woman in the apartment and was cooperating with the investigation.

“They are actually known to each other and we are just trying to piece, put together what is happening and our detectives are still on scene,” McIntosh said.

A neighbor said he was “surprised” at the violence in his gated community.

“It’s a big concern, you know, it’s serious,” he said.

McIntosh said there was no threat to the public or residents, and the investigation was ongoing.
