Viral ice cream eating crossing guard hypes up 76ers fans at Friday's game
A Philadelphia crossing guard who went viral after a wild crash at a playground earlier this week popped up at Friday night’s 76ers game.
While speaking with NBC10 Philadelphia on Jamele Ransom Tuesday, May 5, the crossing guard captured national attention when he gave a passionate interview while casually eating an ice cream cone.
“I’m bobbing and weaving. I’m just thankful. Thankful to be alive right now. Thank you, Jesus,” Ransom said on Tuesday.
Despite the seriousness of the incident, it was Ransom’s animated interview with NBC10 Philadelphia, complete with a sideways crossing guard hat, sunglasses and bites of ice cream, that quickly exploded online.
Then, on Friday, May 8, Ransom was gifted tickets to the 76ers game against the New York Knicks and got the chance to hype up the arena.
When captured on the in-house arena camera, Ransom was eating an ice cream before standing up and held a sign resembling a stop sign.
On one side of the sign it read “STOP” while the other side had “MAKE NOISE.”
