Officials name suspect sought after 33-year-old stabbed to death in Pottstown
Law enforcement officials are on the lookout for 37-year-old Ryan Grace for his suspected involvement in the slaying of a Pottstown man that happened on Wednesday.
On Thursday morning, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office released an image of Grace, noting he has been charged with murder and related offenses in the May 6, 2026, stabbing death of Shaquille Kare Nicholas, 33, of Pottstown.
Police said the incident happened at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, at a home along the 300 block of Walnut Street in Pottstown.
At that time, according to court documents, an argument over a cellphone erupted after Nicholas and Grace were together in Nicholas’ bedroom at the home.
Officials said a witness told police they saw Grace run from the room — allegedly shouting “I got to get out of here” — while hiding something in his hand as he fled from the apartment building shortly before Nicholas emerged from the bedroom bleeding from his chest.
According to court documents, Nicholas muttered, “I’ve been stabbed,” before others in the apartment rushed to provide aid.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where, officials said, he was pronounced at 2:59 p.m.
An autopsy, police said, found Nicholas had died of a stab wound to the chest and the death was ruled a homicide.
Police believe Grace is homeless but is living in the Pottstown area. He is described as being about six-foot-tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He has several tattoos on his arms, including one that says “vagabond” on his forearm.
Grace was last seen wearing a gray sweatsuit, police said.
Anyone with information on Grace’s whereabouts is asked to call Montgomery County Detectives at 610-278-3368 or Pottstown Police at 610-970-6570.
