Caught on Camera: Man sought after woman attacked in store on Market Street

Police have shared surveillance footage in the hopes of finding a man who could be seen on camera attacking a woman at a store along Market Street in University City on April 22, 2026.

Officials posted the footage online on Thursday morning.

According to police, the video depicts an attack that happened on April 22, 2026, at a store along the 4000 block of Market Street in the University City section of West Philadelphia.

As can be seen in the footage, a man follows a woman into the shop and appears to be arguing with her. Another woman could be seen tugging at the man’s arm as the argument continues.

At some point, police said, the man spit on the victim before he lunged at her and struck her several times in the face.

The man and a woman who had her hand on his arm both then flee the scene.

Police said the victim suffered facial injuries in this attack.
