Caught on Cam: Pair sought in robbery of Northeast Philly Dollar General store
Law enforcement officials are seeking help to identify two men who, police said, robbed a Dollar General store in the Fox Chase section of Northeast Philadelphia on April 11, 2026.
Police shared surveillance footage of the incident on social media on Wednesday.
According to police, the incident in question happened at about 12:20 p.m. on April 11, 2026 when two men walked into a Dollar General store along the 7900 block of Oxford Avenue and approached a cashier working at the shop.
At that time, officials said, the men told the store employee that they had a firearm as they demanded the cashier load money onto gift cards.
One of the men, officials said, attempted to load funds into a gift cards using a barcode on his phone, but it didn’t work.
When the transfer failed, police said, the suspect leaned over to the worker and whispered “I have a gun. Don’t play with me.”
The men then demanded the employee manually enter the transactions manually onto cards before they received a pair of $500 transfers each for a total loss of $1,000, police said.
The pair then fled the scene in a white sedan, officials said.
