New video shares more details into deadly triple shooting in West Philly

Surveillance video shared exclusively with NBC10 shows the terrifying triple shooting that left a 20‑year‑old woman dead in West Philadelphia earlier this month.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday, April 7, around 6:20 p.m. along the 5900 block of Market Street.

Police said 20-year-old Imani Ringgold was walking to her job as a home healthcare aide after buying a pizza. Ringgold’s family told NBC10 she was on the phone with her grandmother when she was ambushed by three armed men who jumped out of a black Mazda SUV and opened fire. A total of 27 shots were fired in the incident.

Ringgold suffered gunshot wounds to the face, upper torso and hip, police said. She later died from her injuries.

Two other victims — a 24-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman — were also shot and taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to investigators.

In the video, Ringgold can be seen walking with a pizza box she had just picked up when the Mazda pulled up with a total of four suspects.

One of the suspects was seen in the video continuing to shoot Ringgold at point blank range after she fell to the ground.

According to police, the tragic shooting was likely a case of mistaken identity, and Ringgold was an innocent bystander.

Lynnette Ringgold, Imani’s aunt, said her niece was on the phone with her grandmother when the shooting occurred.

“Her grandmother has to hear every shot. Her crying out for help,” she said. “The people that did it just turn yourself in, because at the end of the day, you are going to get caught.”

Two of the suspects have been identified, 26-year-old Mustafa King and 21-year-old Zaire Manning, but two others remain unknown.

The U.S. Marshalls have joined the case and are offering a $5,000 reward for Manning.

Anyone with any information on the incident is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or anonymously online here.
