Boy, 13, hospitalized after shooting in Pompano Beach neighborhood, officials say
A 13-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after he was wounded in a shooting in a Pompano Beach neighborhood on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The shooting happened around 2:15 p.m. in the area of the 200 block of Northwest 14th Street.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue officials said the 13-year-old was found at the scene and taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Broward Sheriff’s Office officials said the injury was not expected to be life-threatening.
The people involved in the incident are known to each other but a suspect is being sought, BSO officials said.
No other details were immediately known.
