7 killed, including 6 children, in central Pa. house explosion, police say
Seven people, including six children, were killed after a house explosion and fire in Lamar Township in Clinton County, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, April 19, the Pennsylvania State Police said.
When fire crews arrived at the scene at around 8:30 a.m., the house was fully engulfed in flames and no search for victims was possible, police said.
Sarah Stolzfus, 34, and her six children, all between the ages 11 and 3, were killed, police said.
Investigators believe a propane leak from inside the home may have been the cause of the explosion, but the cause remains under investigation, police said.
Police also noted that the home’s exterior propane tanks did not explode and were not a contributing factor to the incident.
