2 separate daytime shootings in Philly leave 1 dead, another hurt, police say

Two separate daytime shootings in Philadelphia on Saturday have left one man dead another hurt, police said.

The first shooting occurred at the 400 block of Tasker Street in South Philadelphia at around 2:27 p.m., police said.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a man with gunshot wounds, police said. The officers then rushed the man to Jefferson University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:48 p.m.

The second shooting occurred at the 6300 block of East Wister Street in the West Oak Lane neighborhood at around 1:58 p.m., police said.

After arriving at the scene, officers also transported a man to the hospital, where his condition is unknown at this time, police said.

No arrests or motives have been announced in either shooting, but the two separate incidents are under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department.
