Road rage shooting injures one near Homestead, police say
Police are investigating a shooting linked to a road rage incident on the Florida Turnpike Tuesday evening near Homestead, authorities said.
Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of Waterstone Plaza, in the 3000 block of Northwest 43rd Avenue, after reports of a shooting that allegedly occurred on the southbound lanes of the Turnpike, outside city limits.
When officers arrived, they located a victim who had been grazed by a bullet during the incident near Southwest 288th Street, police said.
“The victim was transported in stable condition by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital. The Florida Highway Patrol responded and has taken over the investigation,” authorities said.
