Police investigate multiple shootings across Philadelphia that left several hurt
Multiple shootings Saturday evening through Sunday morning across Philadelphia have left several people injured, police said.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, one incident happened around 4:34 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2026.
Police said officers responded to the 500 block of Wyoming Avenue after receiving reports of an individual with a weapon at a restaurant. When officers got to the scene, they found that a man had entered the business suffering from gunshot wounds but had left right before police arrived.
While looking for the victim, police said officers received more information regarding a shooting victim on the 4700 block of Whitaker Avenue. When they got to the next scene, officers found a 20-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by police to the nearby hospital.
A short time later, police said a second 20-year-old man was found on the 4700 block of Rorer Street with a gunshot wound to his left thigh. He was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Both men are in stable condition, police said.
According to police, investigators processed the scene on the 4700 block of Rorer Street, and recovered fired cartridge casings and discovered a black Pontiac G3 that had been struck by gunfire. A grey Ford Fusion was also found mid-block after crashing into a parked pickup truck.
Police have made one apprehension in connection with the incident, but the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the gunfire.
Another incident happened around 1:52 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2026, along the 2400 block of Welsh Road, according to police.
In this shooting, police said, investigators believe the gunfire erupted during an argument, though authorities have not yet released specific details regarding the nature of the disagreement.
The victim, a 25-year-old man, was struck by gunfire in the right leg and taken to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle. Hospital staff placed him in stable condition, police said.
Police said officers arriving at the reported location of the shooting were unable to locate a crime scene. No arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered at this time.
The next reported shooting happened around 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 3.
Police said officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 2100 block of West Lehigh Avenue. When they got to the scene they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered at this time in regards to that incident, police said.
