New Jersey police arrest DoorDash driver, then finish the delivery for him
After arresting a DoorDash driver, police in New Jersey stepped up and completed his delivery.
The Washington Township Police Department in Gloucester County shared on social media that, around noon on Sunday, March 1, 2026, officers stopped a vehicle in front of a high school and found that the driver was wanted and had outstanding warrants.
Police stated that while being arrested, the driver informed officers he was in the process of making a DoorDash delivery nearby.
Sgt. Matt Barnett and Officer Mike Scheer ensured the delivery was completed.
The officers hoped the customer who opened her door for lunch was not too shocked to find police delivering her meal.
“We hope lunch was still hot,” police wrote. “Just another day serving the Washington Township community… in more ways than one.”
NBC10 reached out to DoorDash for comment, but have not heard back.
