Man steals car with 2 kids inside from NJ Wawa parking lot, police say
Police in South Jersey are searching for a man accused of stealing a car from a Wawa parking lot that had two young children inside, according to the Bridgton Police Department.
Officials said that a driver stopped at the Wawa on the 100 block of East Broad Street in Bridgeton around 1:20 a.m. on May 5.
The driver left their car running and unlocked while they went into the store, police explained. A 1-year-old and a 7-year-old were inside the vehicle.
When the driver went back outside, they realized their car was gone, police said.
Officers with the Bridgeton Police Department were able to quickly find the car with the two children inside who were not hurt, according to police.
Now police are searching for the person that they say is behind this carjacking.
In a surveillance photo shared by police, the person was seen wearing all dark clothing with glasses and a face mask that had a green design.
