Human remains found by hikers at Delco park, police say
Human remains were found by two hikers at Ridley Creek State Park in Upper Providence Township on Friday, March 6, police said.
The hikers were walking in the area of 71 Chapel Hill Road at around 12:30 p.m. when they made the discovery and called 911. The Upper Providence Township Police Department then arrived at the scene and requested the Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office’s assistance.
The medical examiner was able to confirm they were human remains and the incident is under investigation by the Upper Providence Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.
The remains have not been identified and anyone with information is urged to contact the Pennsylvania State Police, Criminal Investigation Unit at 484-840-100.
