FHP investigates deadly motorcycle crash that shut down Alligator Alley
A deadly crash involving motorcyclists shut down Interstate 75 for hours in Broward County late Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-75 (Alligator Alley) at mile marker 45 before 7 p.m.
NBC6 cameras captured two motorcycles in the grass and debris in the roadway.
Authorities did not immediately say who was involved or what may have caused the crash.
Both lanes were closed, and drivers could be seen getting out of their vehicles to investigate the cause of the backup.
The road reopened before midnight.
