Crash on I-95 backs up traffic for miles before I-395 and Dolphin Expressway

A crash is causing serious delays on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade on Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol and traffic cameras.

FHP said it was responding to a vehicle crash with injuries in the southbound lanes before the exit for Interstate 395 and the Dolphin Expressway (State Road 836).

It was not immediately clear who was injured, or what may have caused the crash.

Video shows traffic almost at a complete standstill, with drivers squeezing by one lane once they get past the scene of the crash.

“Drivers are backed up for several miles, and now we’re starting to see bumper-to-bumper traffic even towards the Golden Glades Interchange, because now we’re in pretty much in the beginning of rush hour,” NBC6’s Johanna Torres reports.

Drivers are advised to take Florida’s Turnpike or U.S. 441 as an alternate route.
