Bodycam shows K-9 finding suspect who fled from troopers in Martin County

Body camera footage in Martin County captured the moments when a K-9 found a suspect who fled from troopers.

Jamie Silvabel, 33, was charged with prisoner escape or attempt to escape, failure to register a motor vehicle, obstruction without violence and petit theft.

According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, deputies were helping the Florida Highway Patrol after a trooper said they were fighting with a suspect who had an open warrant.

During the struggle, the trooper was able to put one handcuff on Silvabel, but he broke away and ran toward the Stuart West and Cobblestone communities.

Body camera footage shows the K-9 and the deputy in a wooded area searching for Silvabel. At one point, the K-9 led the deputy to an opening and was able to find Silvabel.

Silvable then fought with deputies before he was taken into custody,

He was seen with a bloodied arm while he was being led away in handcuffs.
