19-year-old shot in North Philadelphia on Tuesday night, police say
A suspect is in custody after a 19-year-old man was shot in the lower back and hip on Tuesday night in North Philadelphia, police said.
The shooting occurred at around 10 p.m. at the 1800 block of North Woodstock Street, police said.
Officers nearby initially heard gunfire and went to the scene, where they saw two men running away in separate directions, police said.
After a short foot pursuit, both men were apprehended by police. Officers then discovered that one of the men fleeing was the suspect, and the other was the 19-year-old victim, police said.

The teen was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, police said.
The suspect, described as a 28-year-old man who had multiple arrest warrants out for him, remains in custody at this time, police said.
A semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine and five spent shell casings were found at the scene, police said.
A motive has yet to be determined for the shooting, police said.
