In the first medal event of Day 7 at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, Norwegian Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo tied the record for most gold medals won by any Winter Olympian. To join three other Norwegians in this feat, Klaebo won the men’s cross-country skiing 10km race.

In a women’s round robin curling match, Team USA defeated Canada for the first time in Winter Olympics history.

Mikhail Shaidorov of Team Kazakhstan took gold in a stunning upset during the men’s free skating event, where gold hopeful Ilia Malinin placed eighth. Team USA’s women’s hockey team closed the day out with a place in the semifinals.
