Police chase ends in rollover crash in Fort Lauderdale, authorities say

A police pursuit ended in a rollover crash Thursday morning in Fort Lauderdale, authorities said.

Fort Lauderdale Police said the crash happened at the 1100 block of Powerline Road.

A suspect wanted for “multiple felony charges” fled a traffic stop in Sunrise, and then crashed into a civilian vehicle before one of the vehicles rolled over.

“The civilians and suspect were transported to Broward General Hospital with minor injuries,” police said.

Video of the scene shows one vehicle upside down in front of a home and another with damage to its rear end, stopped against a pole. Police could be seen attending to women and a child sitting on the front lawn.

Fort Lauderdale Police said the crash happened at 1100 block of Powerline Road.

One man, Clinton Wright, said the suspect vehicle was the one against the pole.

“I just saw the white car going down the street, the cops chasing behind it. It makes a U-turn and comes back ’round, and then I heard a big bang up here,” he said.
